Vlatko Koudela

Hi, I'm web developer interested in backend and frontend parts of web development process. In last decade, I've been working with varoius technologies and I've been encountered with various challenges. Since then, technology and development processes evolved so I'll try to mention at least some of those stuff so you can better know what I've been working on and what I want to work on.

Frontend

  • CSS3+Javascript? Yes, HTML5.
  • HTML5 features? Yes.
  • App cache? Yes.
  • Local storage? Yes.
  • Mobile oriented? Yes.
  • Yes.
  • And so on...
  • I did most of the stuff from here.
  •
  • Slicing PSD or PNG?

  • Yes, I did that too. And it has valid markup.
  • Yes. I like it responsive.
  • Yes, I like Twitter Bootstrap.
  • And I like HTML5Boilerplate.
  •
  • Javascript?

  • Yes. jQuery - the core.
  • But I did some work with Prototype.
  • And script.aculo.us.
  • And Mootools.
  • And jQuery mobile.
  • And I did some work with YUI. And didn't like it.
  • And I did too much work with iScroll.
  •
  • RIA?

  • Yes.
  • I like ExtJS for desktop.
  • And I like Sencha Touch 2 for mobile.
  • And I did some work with Qooxdoo v0.7. Didn't like it.
  •
  • Compass and SASS?

  • Yes. I'll use it wherever I can.
  •
  • iOS

  • I have already mentioned a lot, so I won't mention this.
  • No, I won't do this.

Backend

  • PHP! Yes, I like everything about it.
  • PHP OOP! Yes!
  • PHP MVC! Yes! I don't like projects without MVC architecture.
  • Okay, I have some experience with Tomcat and JSP.
  •
  • Frameworks?

  • I did some work with Zend Framework v1.
  • It is powerful FW, but I don't like it.
  • I do care about speed and Zend FW is so slow without some caching mechanism!
  • That is why I created my own PHP FW based on few other frameworks philosophy. It is open source project published on GitHub as Koldy PHP Framework.
  • But Laravel looks nice.
  •
  • Databases?

  • I did a lot of work with MySQL!
  • But PostgreSQL also looks nice.
  •
  • Web servers?

  • I prefer Nginx.
  •
  • My next steps after backend

  • I learned a lot about Linux servers.
  • Latest Ubuntu LTS server or Debian would be my choice.
  • While working with dedicated and virtual servers I learned how to configure: DNS, DHCP, Web server(s), caching mechanisms, database(s), FTP, SSH, Transparent Proxy, Mailing systems, and etc.

I'd like to learn or work with...

And that's it.

Now you know a little more about me. If you want to know more about me, where I'm working, where I was employed and so on... Connect me on LinkedIn or contact me via form below. Say hello or buy me a beer in Varaždin or Zagreb.

Warning!

If you use Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal or any other well known open source CMS, please, DO NOT contact me! There are millions of people in the world who can help you. Or simply try Google Search.

I would appreciate the recommendation
